A scholarly article is generally based on original research, usually written and signed by scholars in the field, may include charts, graphs and tables, and may be written in complex language for the experts in the field. Scholarly articles will usually appear in periodicals with titles that include the words “Journal” or “Quarterly:” they will include a bibliography and will not include any advertisements.
