How do I reference a source with no author in APA style?

Answer

If your source has no author, just skip that element and start with the title of the source. See the examples below.

APA Style

Here's an example of a source with an author in APA style.

Sager, M. (2017, July/August). Dinosaur cowboy. Smithsonian, 48(4), pp. 52-63.

If this source did not have an author, you have to drop the author, move the date to the second position, and start the reference with the article title. Here's what the source above looks like without an author.

Dinosaur cowboy. (2017, July/August). Smithsonian, 48(4), pp. 52-63.
