  • Day Month Year format (10 Apr. 2007)
  • Month Year format (Apr. 2007)
  • Month-Month Year format (Nov.- Dec. 2007)
  • Season Year format (Winter 2007)
  • Time Stamp - 12 hour (5:00 p.m.) or 24 hour (16:00) clock format
  • Date Range (30 June 2017-18)

If citing web page comments that include dates and times, include both separated by a comma.

Month Abbreviations:

Months are abbreviated as follows: Jan.; Feb.; Mar.; Apr.; Aug.; Sept.; Oct.; Nov.; and Dec. Only May, June, and July are spelled out.

*In the heading for an MLA paper the month is never abbreviated.
