Who must take the Florida Civic Literacy Exam (FCLE)?

Answer

Students entering into college and seeking an A.A. or Baccalaureate degree under the 2021-2022 catalog year and thereafter must pass both a course (AMH 2020 or POS 2041) and the FCLE.

Students entering into college and seeking an A.S. or an A.A.S. under the 2022-2023 catalog year and thereafter must also pass a course (AMH 2020 or POS 2041) and the FCLE.

The rule applies to all students who are entering under the 2021-2022 catalog year, regardless of prior postsecondary work.

The best way for a student to know if they are subject to this requirement is to check their audit in DegreeWorks. DegreeWorks is located in myLSSC under student resources.
