What is the Florida Civic Literacy Exam (FCLE)?

Answer

The Florida Civic Literacy Examination (FCLE) is a standardized test designed to assess students' knowledge and understanding of civic literacy.

Lake-Sumter State College students (except dual enrolled) may take the FCLE if they have an active Canvas account and X-ID.  Lake-Sumter students must wait 24 hours in between testing attempts.

LSSC Testing Center cannot accommodate FCLE testing for Dual Enrollment students at this time.

*While Dual Enrolled students may currently be taking courses at Lake-Sumter State College, they are required to take the FCLE at their currently enrolled high school due to state regulations.  Please contact your high school advisor/counselor or the Dual Enrollment office for more information.

Students who are in a Home School Program are permitted to take the FCLE in the LSSC Testing Center.

Cost & Payments

There is no cost to students for the first and second attempts on the FCLE.

A third attempt or more will incur a $20 testing fee.  All third or more attempt testing fees must be paid online with credit or debit card only. Cash is not accepted.

Appointments and Times

All students and examinees must arrive at the beginning of your appointment time.  For example, if you select a 9 am - 12 pm time slot, your appointment begins at 9 am, and you must arrive at that start time.

Late arrivals will not be permitted to test and must reschedule.

All testers must have a scheduled appointment.  If you do not have an appointment, you will not be permitted to test.  Walk-ins are not permitted.
