What are the Testing Center policies?

General Testing Policies

Lake-Sumter State College Testing Services

When registering to take a test at the Testing Center, you agree to follow all policies and procedures outlined below. Failure to comply may result in your removal from the testing area, cancellation of your test, and/or the need to reschedule.

Appointments & Scheduling

  • Start Times: Students must arrive at the exact start time of their selected testing period: 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, or 5:00 PM. Early arrival is recommended to allow time for check-in procedures.
  • Late Arrivals: If you arrive after the scheduled start time, you will not be allowed to test and must reschedule. It is at the discretion of the proctor to allow any testers into the testing lab after the start time.
  • Test Completion: All exams must be completed by the end of the business day on which they are scheduled.
  • Rescheduling: Rescheduling due to illness, emergencies, or unforeseen events should be done through the Testing website or by calling the Testing Center. Please be advised of the receipt policy for the PERT exam and reschedule at the appropriate time.

Test-Specific Requirements

  • Read Test Guidelines: Each test may have specific instructions, rules, or required materials. These must be reviewed and understood before beginning your exam. By starting your test, you agree to follow those guidelines.
  • Accommodations: Students requiring ADA accommodations must request them in advance and provide documentation to the college's Student Accessibility Services Office. Accommodations cannot be made on the day of testing without prior approval.
  • ID Requirements: A valid, government-issued photo ID is required for all tests. Acceptable forms include:
    • Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit
    • State Identification Card
    • Military ID
    • U.S. Passport or Passport Card
    • Permanent Resident Cards

School and Student IDs must be approved by the proctor and are not valid for CLEP exams.

If a student is under-age and does not have a photo ID, the parent or guardian may come and show their ID and sign documentation to confirm the student’s identity and allow them to be tested.

  • Receipts or Proof of Registration: Some exams may require a payment receipt. Please verify and bring all required documentation; digital copies are acceptable.

The following items are strictly prohibited in the testing area unless explicitly allowed for a specific test:

Testing Behavior and Conduct

  • Academic Integrity: Cheating, attempting to cheat, or assisting another test taker is strictly prohibited. Violations will be reported to the appropriate academic authority.
