What is an Advanced Math test?

General Information

The Advanced Math Placement Test provides an additional assessment for students whose scores fall in ranges that suggest potential readiness for higher‑level math courses, including:

  • MAC 1140 (Pre-Calculus Algebra)
  • MAC 1114 (Trigonometry)
  • MAC 2233 (Business Calculus)
  • MAC 2311 (Calculus I)

Testing Qualifications

It requires a minimum of a 123 Math score on the PERT exam, a 24 or higher on the ACT, and a 580 or higher on the SAT in order to take the exam.

Advanced Math Placement Quick Testing Facts

  • The Advanced Math exam is a 3 hour long, timed, paper and pencil exam.
  • No calculator is allowed, but scratch paper is provided.
  • The student will not write on the test, only the scratch paper and answer sheet provided.
  • Only the answers recorded on the answer sheet will be graded; no work is scored and no partial credit is given for any problem.
  • Students are give only 2 attempts on this exam.  

Make an Appointment 

Students must schedule an appointment a minimum of 24 hours prior to their intended test day.

All students and examinees must arrive at the beginning of your appointment time.  For example, if you select a 9 am - 12 pm time slot, your appointment begins at 9 am, and you must arrive at that start time. 

Late arrivals will not be permitted to test and must reschedule.

All testers must have a scheduled appointment.  If you do not have an appointment, you will not be permitted to test.  Walk-ins are not permitted.

Pay the Fee

Advanced Math testing fee is $20. All testing fees must be paid online with credit or debit card only. Cash is not accepted.
