What is the HESI? How do I make an Evolve Username?

Answer

The Health Education Systems, Inc. (HESI) exam is a standardized test used by nursing schools to evaluate the preparedness and academic readiness of prospective nursing students. Administered by Elsevier, the HESI exam is often a crucial part of the admissions process for nursing programs.

Follow the directions below to register with Evolve prior to the day of test.  You must complete this step prior to arrival at the Testing Center.  If you do not have an Evolve username and password, you will not be permitted to test.

Students must go to www.hesiinet.com to create an Elsevier/Evolve account and create username/password.

Please make sure that you know your username and password on the day of your test.

  • Go to www.hesiinet.com/
  • Under Student Login click on "Take My Exam"
  • Click "Don’t have an Evolve Username?"
  • Click "Sign In" in the top right corner
  • Click "Create an Account"
  • Complete the form and click "Submit"
  • Evolve will then email your username to your provided email address.  Your password is whatever you initially created.
  • Bring your username and password with you on your testing day.

Refer to the AS Nursing Program Information Packet for detailed exam information and scoring.
