What is the ACCUPLACER?

Answer

General Information

ACCUPLACER is an integrated system of computer-adaptive assessments designed to evaluate students’ skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Lake Sumter State College does not accept Accuplacer test scores for placement purposes.  LSSC accepts PERT, SAT, and ACT scores for placement into college readiness courses.

If you are a non-LSSC student who wants to take the Accuplacer exam for another institution, then you must have permission from that institution.  You are responsible for any fees or payment. You must also provide a voucher from another institution; it will need to be presented to the test proctor before the test date.

Testing Policy for Non-LSSC Students:

  • If you are testing for another institution, you must obtain written permission and a voucher from that institution.
  • You are responsible for all testing fees and must present your testing voucher to the proctor before your scheduled test date.
  • You must pay a $20 proctoring fee to Lake-Sumter State College payable via credit card only.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their scores are submitted to their home institution.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to direct any questions regarding placement scores to their home institution.

Make an Appointment

Students must schedule an appointment a minimum of 24 hours prior to their intended test day.

All students and examinees must arrive at the beginning of your appointment time.  For example, if you select a 9 am - 12 pm time slot, your appointment begins at 9 am, and you must arrive at that start time.

Late arrivals will not be permitted to test and must reschedule.

All testers must have a scheduled appointment.  If you do not have an appointment, you will not be permitted to test.  Walk-ins are not permitted.
